Commissions
Clark has worked on a number of commissions over the years, in both paint and thread. Though she mostly specialises in dog portraiture, she also thoroughly enjoys the challenge of capturing any loved one; be it cat, rabbit, child, reptile, amphibian, fish…
Scarlett’s preferred mediums are slow-drying acrylic, gouache, acrylic and embroidery.
Painted Commissions
Clark loves to use bright and vivid colours in her paintings, specifically in her backgrounds which have vastly adapted over the years; starting with a simple block colour background, to abstract coloured shapes, simple scenes and to now, incorporating her grandmother’s designs. The wonderful Celia Birtwell.
Celia has a range of beautiful prints that add a new element to Clark’s work. Her designs gave inspiration to both the very successful David Hockney and Ossie Clark (Scarlett’s grandfather) and now Scarlett Clark’s work.
Embroidered Commissions
As well as painted commissions, Clark has also taken up many embroidered works over the years, including work on clothes. She is more than happy to embroider any loved one (animal or human) as a piece of art for the wall or as an addition to a piece of clothing.
